My dad was born in Paddington London to Alice Maud Scanlan and Richard Scanlan, he had 2 sisters, Kit and Ruby, and 2 brothers Dick and Tom

In this picture it's almost as if he is here again and saying "everything is OK, if you need me just say" which was the kind of man he was. |

In 1998 Joerg and Renate visited with Simon and Simon grew very fond of dad and I think the feeling was mutual

Auntie Elli and Uncle Stan
We had been to Germany and Auntie Elli and Uncle Stan came to Harlow with Bernie and Chris to greet us back home. Mum was so tired she could hardly keep her eyes open so Uncle Stan helped. Dad is kneeling on the floor with Chris and Mike. I took the photo.

We had been for a picnic and Opa had the idea that the beer would be cooler if they hung the bottles on string and let the water from the waterfall wash over them and this is what it took 3 men to do that day...keep the bottles cool! |
